To mod cars in GTA 5, download and install Script Hook V, dsound, and the GTAV LUA Plugin. Once installed, you can customize certain large vehicles by entering them in their parked location and selecting the customization option in the menu.
The auto shop is a popular location for car modifications in GTA Online, as it offers unlocked colors, all modifications, cheaper prices, and great lighting. Another option is to use other people's Auto Shops for customizing your car. Remember to select the categories of modifications you want to make, such as transmission and turbo, before purchasing them.
